Xaris Panagiotopoulos was born on 22/7/1988 in Athens and lives in Perama, Piraeus. The first contact with music was on the age of 12. He began as self-taught percussionist playing Greek traditional, Arabic and Latin percussion for 3 years, performing on school bands, dance clubs and local bands. On the age of fifteen, he was associated for the first time with drumsticks and a drum kit, and he realised by the first hit on the snare and the bass drum that this musical instrument is this one that suits on him. Mr. Sakis Kefallinos, who is one of the best amateurs on blues and jazz, drummers in Athens, was the first person who gave him professional help on drumming, by learning to him the meaning and the importance of the definition of Groove and an alternative way for holding the drumsticks, different from this that he knew until then, the Traditional Grip which he adopted for the next years. During the years of 2007-2008 he took some courses with Greek famous professional drummers, who encouraged him to get involved with drums more severely.  Some of them are: Gregory Syntridis who has cooperated with singers like Gianni Kotsira, George Ntalara, Eleonora Zouganeli etc,  Spiro Dorizas who has cooperated with singers like Peggy Zina, Natassa Theodoridou, Despina Vandi etc,  John Stauropoulos who has cooperated with D. Lynch, A. Shepard, X. Padilla etc, he has been teacher at many seminars at Frankfurt Music Messe too and George Kollias has been student of him. And finally  Nick Sidirokastritis who has cooperated with Gregory Danis Trio and Xaris Lamprakis Quartet.  At the same time with the courses. Xaris was involved in bands like Legato the Band, Galliard Syndrome, Otherwise, 5 Seasons, Asorti, who performed greek and foreign song covers on famous stages and clubs in Athens. In 2009 a very important cooperation is time to be held, this one with Theodosia Tsatsou who has been founder member and basic vocalist of the famous band Mple with more than 5.000.000 views on youtube channel. He followed her on her winter tour on Northern Greece, performing on places like Thessaloniki, Alexandroupoli, Komotini etc, as well as in perfomings on Kyttaro’s Stage which is one of the most important music stages in Athens. In 2010 he became a member of the music band Vertigo Experiment , where he stayed for two years, performing on 200 lives which have been parts of many tours in Greece, on places like Livadia, Kuparissia, Karditsa, Trikala, Amalliada, Antikira etc, and on islands like Mykonos, Andros, Spetses, Ydra, Crete, Rhodes etc.  Also, he recorded the drums for five songs of the band which made known through the Internet and the most famous of them was introduced to the tv audience through a famous TV show on Star Channel. At the same time he cooperated with Lia Vissi too, who is a very famous Greek Soprano and sister of Anna Vissi, Antoni Mitzelo who is one of the most important composers in Greece whose songs are popular on the radio until today. Also this composer was founder member with Laurenti Maxairitsa of the famous band Termites. Xaris, at the same time cooperated also with Salina who is a rock singer to be with her own album and Michael Kakepi who is a very famous rock singer with albums which more than 300.000 views on youtube channel.  Xaris performed with the last one playing drums and he also performed to a documentary on TV based on greek rock music which was viewed by the greek channel ERT. Two more television appearances took place on the channel NET performing with Lia Vissi and Michael Kakepi and on MAD channel at Mad Day Live show with Asorti Band. In 2011, at the same time with his live performances he started providing tuitions to new drummers on the level of beginner and intermediate. In 2012, he created and organized a drumline ,called Six Pack Drumline , with the help of his collaborators and his drummer friends and they presented their creation on a music and dance event in a football stadium with more than 5000 audience. In addition, he created and organized a cover band too, called Axion Band which performs every week jazz ,latin ,soul and disco song covers. The public interest on the Axion Band’s Show and the audience size  extended the performances since last December.  At the same year he is going to start his cooperation with the music band Taxideftes, who have already been activated for 11 years in the greek music scene. They have thousands of fans following them, albums with record companies and their videos on youtube reach the 100.000 views. Within this year he performed with them in many stages in Athens and he followed them in 70 lives in the summer, in the crowded in every performance place of the band in the island of Spetses. There the band recorded the first live album with the help of Xaris Panagiotopoulos  which is going to be released in the next few months. In the same year he is going to collaborate with Nick Kuriakakis, a singer from Crete, who is very famous in Athens because of his collaboration with the rap artist Master Tempo for the song Venteta which has more than 700.000 views on youtube.

  Today, he continues his collaboration with Taxideftes and the famous singer from Cyprus Evdokia Kadi. They continue the live performances and are ready to record their second personal album in which Xaris Panagiotopoulos is going to record the drums again. Also, he continues performing with the Axion Band , providing tuitions on his students here in Athens and via Skype on students all over Greece  and collaborates with John Savvidaki who is famous singer with albums with more than 3.000.000 views on youtube.  Also, he makes rehearsals for music performances which will be first introduced to the Greek audience on April. In this he is going to present Greek Traditional rhythms together with other important musicians.  

  In the age of 24 he has already :   performed in 500 live, 2 official recordings and one which is now under preparation, many unofficial recordings for demo’s of many singers to be, 5  tours and 4 television appearances in popular TV shows.

Important Music Moments Too :  He was chosen among 15 other Greek professional drummers  to represent Greece and Greek Traditional Rhythms in a festival in Latin America. Besides, a great and vary famous  Greek Soloist called  Michael Tzouganakis who has a successful music career  in Greece and in Foreign Countries(Via Tours) and his songs and performances reach the 10.000.000 views on Youtube, make a proposal to Xaris  after a Jam Session they had to be his permanent drummer.  Finally he collaborated with the amazing Greek drummer Panos Vassilopoulos  and created two HD Youtube Drum Videos which reached in one week  2000 views.
